STATE RUNNER-UPS!!!

The 2011 IHSA State Meet was the most spectacular day in the history of the OTHS Cross Country program. OTHS placed SECOND in the state of Illinois. This marked the first time since 1988 that a non-Chicago school earned a trophy (Moline HS-3rd). For the first time, the Panthers beat state and national powers Neuqua Valley and York. The team also beat nationally-ranked Buffalo Grove. Alex Riba shocked the crowd when he kicked past three of the best runners in the state and finished in 2nd place. His place and his time (14:27) are the best in school history. The entire team celebrated. We were the last team to leave the park. Check the Panther Prints for all the results. CONGRATULATIONS PANTHERS ON THE BEST SEASON IN SCHOOL HISTORY!!!

On October 10th, the OTHS Cross Country program lost an icon as Richard "Foz" Ryan passed away at the age of 80. Foz was a monumental figure in the O'Fallon community and the running community. He coached OTHS Cross Country from 1987-1995. His son, Tim, and his grandson, Connor are two of the greatest runners in the school's long history. At the Southwestern Conference Championship Meet, the OTHS boys and girls cross country teams will wear a mourning band in his honor.
